Families + Lifestyle
Lifestyle photography is about catching a moment in time and turning it into art. A teeny moment in your day and making something beautiful. Whether it’s the kids playing the back yard or wrestling on the couch with dad, snuggling in bed reading books, my aim is to capture these daily moments and make a piece of art for you to hang on the wall. That is the beauty of photography. It can turn the everyday into art. I am lucky enough to be invited into peoples lives on their wedding day and this often continues when they grow their families or just want to get an annual portrait with their fur baby. I am always so humbled to be invited into a families home to document a moment in time for them.

You will receive all of your images web sized via a lovely online gallery that you can share with family and friends, which you can download print and web resolution images from, onto your computer and other devices. I’ll send you some sneak peeks within a week and your full gallery will be ready around 3 weeks after your session (depending on if it’s peak wedding season…. it may take an extra week).

It is totally up to you! Home is where the heart is, and it is often easier for many families to have their sessions at home, and it can help kids to feel more comfortable if they are in their own space. Your home doesn’t have to be from a magazine, I love the real-ness of photos at home and it’s pretty cool for you to have photos of that moment in time.
If that’s not your thing we can meet in a park or at the beach, anywhere special to you. If you’re stuck for ideas I have some lovely spots I regularly shoot at (including pup friendly locations).

As you can see from the collection of images below, I’m a big fan of sweet afternoon light, so in spring/summer around 4pm is best, and in winter around 3pm. If you have little bebes or toddlers who are a little more schedule driven, I can come to you anytime that works best. For in-home sessions this is totally ok, if having a location session just keep in mind that the light may be a little harsher.

Oh boy do I work weekends. I have worked weekends for the last 8 years shooting weddings, and during wedding season I’m pretty much at capacity for weekend availability. The rare weekends that I do have free are reserved for much needed family time. I have very limited weekend availability, however I do reserve Wednesdays and Fridays exclusively for family sessions. If you can swing an early mark, sessions in summer don’t generally happen until after 4pm when it’s much cooler and the light is a bit softer. If you have newer babies and are ruled by schedules (trust me, I remember those days too well), we can have a session in the morning or whenever fits in with your little people.

Most importantly, you should all feel amazing and healthy for your session. Secondly, it’s also important for me to stay healthy as I’m going into other homes and have a busy wedding season ahead, so if anyone at home is displaying any symptoms of illness, please reach out to me and we can easily reschedule.
