The Farm, Byron Bay
Jenna + Chris’ wedding was smack bang in the middle of the first wave of lockdowns. Living in Sydney, with family in Queensland, friends overseas and their planned wedding in Byron Bay, to say it was a stressful time is putting it lightly. But these two were cool cucumbers who shifted everything for later in the year and hoped for the best. Despite some guests and wedding party crew unable to travel, the day went off without a hitch and was one of the funnest weddings of this gals career. The fact that there are highland cows at The Farm was a bonus, the fact that Jenna and Chris all round excellent humans AND fellow Harry Potter nerds like me helped, but mostly they just radiated fun and love and happiness as did their friends and family who helped them celebrate.
As I publish this wedding in mid 2023, it feels like a wild moment in time to look back on…. I think I’m still a little sore and scarred from it all which is maybe the reason I have taken so long to share weddings since COVID hit (I’m rolling with the PTSD excuse, ok?), and Jenna + Chris have been busy since then, welcoming their gorgeous little Harvey into the world, who I was lucky enough to meet and photograph when they visited for Christmas (shall share that session soon also). It was so incredible to leave this wedding with sore cheeks from smiling and laughing all day, after what had been a turbulent year thus far.
